FRIENDS OF OLD ANDADO INCORPORATED

For Old Andado Homestead to remain we need people who are interested in looking after the site and attending to any visitors. This task has become hard since Molly is no longer able to live at Old Andado. To achieve this we are starting a Volunteer Caretakers system whereby people traveling through or those interested can be our caretakers for a week or longer.

Our main aim is to maintain the buildings to a standard that meets the heritage requirements now that they are heritage listed and also to provide facilities and services to visitors who are driving through or stopping over.

As Old Andado does not generate a large sum of funds annually we also hold fund raising events, the main one being ‘Molly’s Bash’ held every Mothers Day weekend since 1993. In the past these have been held at Old Andado Homestead itself but we are also planning a more local, possibly in town event as well. See our blog for regular updates.

As a part of fundraising we are opening the Friends of Old Andado Inc. (F.O.A.) to memberships where the membership fees are directed to maintenance of the site buildings and upgrading facilities and services. Friends of Old Andado are a not-for-profit association and all donations made are tax deductible.

As a member of F.O.A. you will receive a bi-annual newsletter of the goings on at Old Andado and will receive VIP or discounted tickets to Molly’s Bash and other fund raising events. We are also planning some souvenirs in the future and you will be given a discount off any items you may purchase - also satisfaction of helping to preserve a unique place and piece of history.
